Notes + Questions: The Just Judge

Jun 26, 2022    Pastor Matthias Haeusel

“That’s not fair…”

Romans 2:14-15

God is the just Judge:

• Psalm 89:14
• Revelation 15:3-4
• John 5:21-29

Jesus came the first time to save (Luke 19:10); Jesus is coming the second time to judge (John 5:21-29).

Judgment is coming:

3 Examples of God’s just judgment: Cosmic, Global, Local

• Angels - 2 Peter 2:4
• Ancient World - 2 Peter 2:5
• Sodom and Gomorrah - 2 Peter 2:6

Ruth Graham: “ If God does not one day judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

The Judgment of God is inevitable, but it is not inescapable.

God is the merciful Savior:

• God saved Noah - 2 Peter 2:5
• God saved Lot - 2 Peter 2:7
• God saves sinners - 2 Peter 2:9

Sin is why Jesus came and died? The Gospel is the good news that God saves sinners by His grace!

—> All sin will be fully judged; either on the Cross or for all eternity in hell.

Do you want to see God’s love? —> Look to the Cross of Christ.
Do you want to see God’s justice? —> Look to the Cross of Christ.

Romans 3:21-26
