Notes + Questions: Covenant: The Life of Moses (Part 1)

Aug 20, 2023    Pastor Matthias Haeusel

Covenant: Moses Pt. 1 Deliverance

RECAP:

God makes all things very good and creates mankind to be in relationship with Himself

But, tempted and deceived by the dragon mankind rebels

God promises a Redeemer who will crush the head of the dragon

God chooses one man - Abraham

And his family - Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and his brothers

Through the wickedness of his brothers Joseph ends up a slave in Egypt, so as to fulfill Gen.15

In Egypt Joseph becomes Prime Minister and sustainer of life for Egypt and her neighbors

In Egypt Israel remains separate and grow from a family into a nation of maybe 2 million people

Genesis ends with Joseph dead and in a tomb in Egypt - but by faith (cf. Hebrews 11) Joseph asks the children of Israel to take his body when God is going to lead them into the Promised Land.
