2 Peter 1:8–11

What must I do to be saved?

Sanctification:
“a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives.” - Dr. Wayne Grudem

2 Peter 1:8
For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:9
For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Have you forgotten the Gospel?

2 Peter 1:10
Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

Jude 1:24-25
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

• Are you obedient to God’s Word? (2:3-5)
• Does your life indicate you love God rather than the world? (2:15)
• Is your life characterized by "doing what is right"? (2:29)
• Do you seek to maintain a pure life? (3:3)
• Do you see a decreasing pattern of sin in your life? (3:5-6) [Note: this refers to not continuing in sin as a way of life, not a total absence of sin.]
• Do you demonstrate love for other Christians? (3:14)
• Do you "walk the walk," versus just "talking the talk"? (3:18-19)
• Do you maintain a clear conscience? (3:21)
• Do you experience victory in your Christian walk? (5:4)
